Music to me isn’t just sound. Music is a feeling. I believe that music speaks to the soul and lyrics are what the heart yearns to say. You know that feeling you get when you hear a song and it takes you to another place and you wish that it would just last longer than those silly 3 to 4 minutes? I mean music so good that you find yourself singing it at random moments or turning it up when you’re feeling sad or when you want to dance. Yeah, that. I want to make music like that. Music has been my escape from some pretty humiliating experiences. For instance, I remember in middle school I really liked this guy, I mean really liked and I gave him a letter pouring out my feelings because I’ve always been better at writing how I feel than actually saying it. Ask any of my friends from that time period. If I had to apologize or anything I always had to write it down. Anyway, back to the point. So I gave him the letter with this huge smile filled with hope and happiness and what does he do? You guessed it!! He threw it in the trash right in front of me. I didn’t know it then, but that experience would make for some pretty awesome writing material later on. Through music I am able to express my thoughts in a way I could never do if I just said them. Now I’m not too proud to admit that I cried my eyes out after he did that to me, but experiences like that helped me to grow not only as a person, but as a writer. I have a very active imagination, but some things I couldn’t make up if I tried! Why music? Because it makes me feel something. Music makes me explore my thoughts and my soul. Music has the power to change your outlook on your situation or someone else’s situation. Music is so important to me because it can bring people together. To me, music is universal; connecting people who otherwise would have nothing in common. I want my music to bridge a gap between cultures and countries; between language and lives.
Connect With Me:
Believe is more than just a title of one my songs. It’s a word I live by. Believe it or not, I used to blog about stuff like makeup, skincare, and clothing because I thought, “hey, I can do that.” Anybody can do anything, but what I’m realizing is the main difference between people who are successful and those who are just existing is passion; having a passion for something and loving it so much…
Here is my new single “Believe” produced by Ryan Reedy of Ryan Reedy Music Studios and written by Aisha Parker. Hope you enjoy. Become a fan and join my mailing list for updates and new music!
